Anantapur: Officials warn builders to clear all encroachments

ANANTAPUR: Taking a serious stand on encroachments in 23 mandals in the area, the Anantapur Hindupur Urban Development Authority (AHUDA) wants action to clear them. Collector G.Veerapandian on Friday organised a meeting with building owners who violated the Acts and asked them to clear the encroachments.

“AHUDA will strictly follow rules. Building owners are required to clear encroachments and illicit constructions otherwise we will clear and widen the roads,” the collector said and directed AHUDA vice chairman Prasanthi to organise awareness meetings in all the 23 mandals. At the meeting with a group of building owners at Penukonda, the collector stated that most of the encroachments were owned by educated people who have violated norms. Violation of norms by multi storied buildings has become a cause for inconvenience to surrounding houses. The collector said that gram panchayat can give permission for G+2 but many of the buildings are four to five storied. He said that the rules of construction were being implemented since 1922.

The collector and Anantapur RDO Malola inspected the road widening process between Thomus Manro Road towards JNTUA, Prasannayapalli and Rapthadu to connect NH 44 Road. The road connects Anantapur municipal coporation with Rudrampeta Gram Panchayat, Prasannayapalli and Rapthadu panchayats.
