Confusion on over sharing of government employees
Hyderabad: Government employees working in the 9th and 10th Scheduled institutions are facing a different problem. Even three-and-a-half years after the state was bifurcated, these Scheduled institutions, and their employees, have not been distributed between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. About 10,000 employees are working in these institutions. At present, they are allotted to both states on ‘order to serve’ basis. Unless they are divided between the two states on a permanent basis, they cannot get local status.
This is creating much uncertainty among them as those currently working in AP on ‘order to serve’ basis may be allotted to Telangana state and those working in Telangana may be allotted to AP in the final settlement. The Central government issued a gazette notification recently extending the time limit for getting local status by two more years. In this period, if the bifurcation of these institutions is not done, the employees will continue to face an uncertain future.
