Telangana State Council of Higher Education to revamp higher education

The committees, which will look into syllabus reforms, will formed within a week.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will form three working committees to revamp higher education on the lines of advanced countries, said T. Papi Reddy, chairman TSCHE, on Tuesday. Six universities — Osmania University, Kakatiya University, JNTUH, IITB and EFLU — in the state will start incubation centres, TSCHE said. Addressing the media on Tuesday, the TSCHE chairman said, “To provide more employment opportunities we are planning to start six incubators in state universities. The incubators will not be limited to information technology. It will provide multiple opportunities to students.”

The committees, which will look into syllabus reforms, internships and incubators, will be formed within a week. TSCHE has conducted a working committee meeting on reforms in higher education. Vice-Chancellors from various universities participated in the meeting. Mr Reddy added, “Once the incubators are set up we will provide academic leave to students to work on their ideas and try their skills on entrepreneurship.”
