Telangana government prepares Skill Development policy

The government will budget funds for this purpose.

Hyderabad: The TS government has prepared a draft Skill Development policy and Skill Mission that will help impart industry required skill training to the workforce for enhancing employability, .

State planning department principal secretary B.P. Acharya said the mission would undertake short term skill development training programmes for new entrants into the job market to improve their competencies and employability, to enhance the skill set of existing workforce by up-skilling and re-skilling, and to impart industry-oriented skill training.

He said skill coordination agencies headed by collectors would be set up at district levels. He said present employment exchanges would be leveraged to take roles and responsibilities. The government will budget funds for this purpose and the Planning department would be the administrative department for mobilization of funds.

He said funds would be mobilised under corporate social responsibility (CSR), MPLADS and MAs, MLCs constituency development funds and other sources.
