BSP, SP shield scamsters and criminals: Amit Shah in UP

Amit Shah was speaking at a function to flag off the third parivartan yatra of the party in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.

Sonbhadra: Charging BSP and Samajwadi Party with plundering the ecology of Uttar Pradesh, BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday said both these parties are known to shield scamsters and criminals enjoying patronage of each other.

"While coming here, I saw big cavities and craters in the hills and asked what has happened here. I was told that the stones from there have been taken away for making Mayawati's statues," Shah said at a function to flag off the third parivartan yatra of the party in Sonbhadra.

"(In SP) There is a very close confidant of Mulayam Singh Yadav who has been given the contract to do illegal mining and loot people...If BJP comes to power, there will not be a single corruption case as has been under the Narendra Modi government at the Centre," he said.

Had the rich minerals and natural resources from here been properly used, the entire Kashi area would have got bridges, water and power, Shah said.

Mineral-rich Sonebhadra shares its borders with four states -- Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Recalling as to how Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had promised to lodge cases against those indulging in corruption during Mayawati's regime, Shah said none of those involved in Rs 2 lakh crore worth of scams has been tried.

"Not a single case has been lodged against any person close to Mayawati...If behenji (Mayawati) comes to power, she will take care of SP goondas and if SP will return to power it will take care of behenji's corrupt aides...But if BJP comes to power, neither the goondas nor the corrupt will be saved," he said.

Alleging that those who got power of this big state have done nothing other than indulging in corruption, Shah attacked Akhilesh over encroachment of government land and promised that with BJP at the helm, they will be evicted within one month.

He also alleged that funds sent by the Modi government are usurped by teams of "chacha and bhatija" in Lucknow -- a reference to Shivpal Yadav and nephew Akhilesh.

Shah said the "chacha-bhatija" spat overshadowed the much- published SP silver jubilee meet in Sonbhadra.
