Bengaluru: BJP worker brutally murdered in Aurad taluk
BIDAR: Close on the heels of brutal murders of RSS worker Rudresh in Bengaluru and BJP Yuva Morcha leader J. Ravi at Periyapatna, another BJP activist, Sunil Dongre, was murdered at Sonal village of Aurad taluk on Sunday night.
Dongre’s body, which was found near the Government Primary School in the early hours of Monday, bore multiple stab injuries in the intestine, face and other parts. He is survived by his wife, mother and three children.
Dongre, 35, was said to be a staunch follower of Aurad MLA Prabhu Chavan and had a lot of clout in the villages nearby. He owned more than 50 acres of agricultural land in Sonal and was financially sound, the police said.
The police are investigating to ascertain the motive behind the murder. However, preliminary probe revealed that Dongre got a call on his mobile phone around 10 pm Sunday and had gone near the school. But later, his body was found with stab injuries, police sources said.
MLA Chavan visited Dongre’s house and consoled the family members.
Taking the state government to task, he alleged that BJP and RSS activists were being politically targeted in different parts of the state.
“Dongre was one such target. Home Minister G. Parameshwar has completely failed to discharge his duties,” he said, demanding a high-level probe into Donge’s murder. SP Prakash Nikam, Bhalki range DySP Ashok Kumar D.S. and other senior police officers visited the spot.
