Telangana: Make Medaram Jatara a Huge Success, Says SP

The police department is deploying huge number of personnel for the safety of devotees who come to Sammakka and Saralamma Jatara

Hyderabad: To ensure the success of Asia's largest tribal fair, Medaram Jatara, scheduled in February, district superintendent of police Gouse Alam urged collaboration between the police force and the Sammakka and Saralamma Pujarala Sangam, along with the Abhyudaya Youth Foundation.

Addressing members of both organisations during a meeting in Mulugu district, Alam emphasised the significance of their combined efforts due to the expected influx of devotees from across the state and beyond. The police department is implementing extensive security measures, deploying a significant number of personnel for attendee safety.

Alam underscored the vital roles of temple priests and youth association members during the ceremonial transportation of tribal goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma from the forest. Cooperation with law enforcement is imperative to avert any untoward incidents.

In response to the SP's plea, members expressed gratitude for the recognition of their contributions, expressing eagerness to collaborate with the police force in ensuring the grand success of Medaram Jatara. DSP Ravinder, Special Branch inspector Kiran, circle inspector of Pasra Shankar, SI of Thadvai Omkar Yadav and representatives from both organizations were present.
