High Court upheld SEC Nilam Sawhney appointment as SEC for Andhra Pradesh on Thursday

VIJAYAWADA: The state election commissioner (SEC) Nilam Sawhney heaved a sigh of relief after the High Court upheld her appointment as SEC for Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
The court held a hearing on a plea to set aside her appointment as SEC, claiming that her appointment was done in violation of Supreme Court norms having earlier served as advisor to the Chief Minister.
The court dismissed the petition.
