Three workers die in Mission Bhagiratha in Bhadradri district of Telangana

Kothagudem: Three workers were killed when mud caved in on them while they were laying a pipeline as part of Mission Bhagiratha at Toggudem under Paloncha mandal on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred following heavy rains in the area. The three workers had descended into the 10-foot-deep trench to prepare the soil to place the pipeline, when the soil on the side collapsed burying all the three on the spot.

This is one of the biggest mishaps in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district after the Mission Bhagiratha works commenced.

A case has been registered and investigation is on, a police official said. Officials of the Mission Bhagiratha sent a report on the incident to the higher officials.

The victims were identified as Gogula Srinu, 24, of Miryalaguda, Mekala Naveen, 23, of Suryapet and Gandikota Kotesh, 24, of Nalgonda.
