Bengaluru: Heavy, late afternoon showers on Saturday flooded many parts of the city, including Koramangala, Hebbal, Shivananda Circle, Kodigehalli, Yelahanka, Vidyaranyapura, Bommanahalli, Sarjapur, HSR Layout and other areas. The wet weather dampened the weekend spirits and many had to cancel their plans and stay indoors.
With just one hour of rain, many houses in Koramangala 3rd and 4th Blocks were flooded. Many roads across the city also had knee deep water, putting motorists through hardship.
Officials manning the BBMP control room said that majority of complaints were from the Yelahanka BBMP zone. “Most of them were related to flooding. Barapnagar, Chinnaswamy Layout, Ramachandra Nagar and Gangamma Gudi Circle were some of the areas under Yelahanka zone that were flooded" an official said.
A tree fell in Vidyaranyapura, and no casualties were reported, he said.
