Bengaluru: Taking a dim view of Karnataka State Women's Development Corporation Chairperson Bharati Shankar's views on women safety, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Dinesh Gundurao on Saturday asserted that the party will seek an explanation from her.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr Rao said, “I do not agree with her statement completely. The party will surely seek an explanation from her in order to know in what context she has spoken in this manner.”
While taking part in an event and answering an audience question whether women's empowerment was equal to women's safety, Ms Shankar had said, “When women go to jatre, do they get raped? They do get raped at unwanted parties.”
