Heavy rains lash Hyderabad, flood many colonies

The rains occurring since the beginning of October are attributed to a cyclonic circulation that persists over the Bay of Bengal.

The rains occurring since the beginning of October are attributed to a cyclonic circulation that persists over the Bay of Bengal. This will bring more rains to the state up to October 15.

The mercury stood at 31ºC earlier in the day and gradually dropped down after the heavy rains. The night temperature was expected to drop below 22ºC.

Since the beginning of the month, the state has received 46 per cent surplus rainfall, districts such as Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar , Medak, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy and Warangal are in the excess rainfall zone. The composite Adilabad, Khammam and Nizamabad districts are in the deficit zone.
