CM K Chandrasekhar Rao clears promotions for 275 cops that were stuck in cases

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday cleared the long-pending promotions to 275 police officers as non-cadre SPs, ASPs and DSPs. The promotions were stuck in legal problems. These included 139 CIs as DSPs, 103 DSPs as ASPs, 33 ASPs as non-cadre SPs.

Mr Rao held a meeting with senior officials of police and law departments to resolve the long-pending issue.

After a four-hour discussion with police officials, legal officers, public representatives, the CM decided to give promotions to the 275 officials.

With this every officer till 1994 batch will get a promotion. The CM signed the file for promotions on Saturday.
