BDA to announce another 10000 sites at Kempegowda Layout

Applications will be invited shortly for the newly formed sites.

Bengaluru: Those seeking BDA sites have some good news. After announcing 5,000 sites at the Nada Prabhu Kempegowda Layout, the civic body is allotting another 10,000 sites in the second phase.

During a review meeting of the ongoing infrastructure works, City Development Minister K.J. George directed officials to expedite works on forming additional of 10,000 sites at the Kempegowda Layout. Applications will be invited shortly for the newly formed sites.

Infrastructure works like roads, water and power supply lines, besides earmarking space for garbage processing, sewage treatment plant and storm water drains should be taken up immediately, Mr George said. He directed the officials to also do the groundwork for creating facilities for the remaining phases.

In Arkavathy Layout, 9,562 sites have been formed so far, of which 8,187 sites have been allotted. Tender work is in progress to create infrastructure involving an investment of Rs 201 crore.

Progress with regard to works related to Magadi Road junction, Tumkur Road junction, construction of new service road and widening of existing road near Laggere, National Military Memorial near Raj Bhavan, Hebbal flyover junction, Hennur flyover junction, Goraguntepalya underpass and Kanteerava junction grade separator were also reviewed.

Works related to redevelopment of Indiranagar BDA Shopping Complex at Rs 657 crore, RT Nagar complex at Rs 56.37 crore, Jayanagar complex at '116 crore and Malleswaram Market at Rs 70 crore were discussed. Mr George directed officials to complete the works at the earliest.

The government has mandated construction of 30,000 houses under the affordable housing project and has allotted 326 acres. He directed officials to create facilities such as primary school, roads, markets, transport system and shopping areas to attract more people to the project. He also suggested to the officials to involve nationalised banks to provide loans to the needy.

The Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project to connect national highways on Tumkur Road, Bellary Road, Madras Road and Hosur Road was also reviewed.
