Tirupati: TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said that to enhance transparency, ePoS swiping machines had been installed at the accommodation and darshan counters in Tirumala to enable cashless transactions by devotees.
During the meeting with senior officials of TTD in the administrative building on Saturday evening, the EO said that from September 6 the TTD has cancelled the two per cent charges for swiping bank cards at the Andhra Bank counter on the purchase of gold and silver dollars in Tirumala.
“The cashless transactions in Tirumala have been enabled without swiping charges by banks now for the sake of pilgrims,” he said.
He instructed TTD health officer R.R. Reddy to replace the chemical products used for cleaning purposes at Tirumala with eco-friendly organic sanitation products.
