Hyderabad: The GHMC will fill 3,600 potholes until September 13. Civic body commissioner M. Dana Kishore told officials not to provide false information pertaining to regular filling of potholes, He said each of the instant repair teams should fill at least 10 potholes daily.
Mr Kishore noted that the staff was dumping the bitumen mix directly into the potholes, which was not the right way. The corporation will train the staff on the correct manner to fill the potholes. It wants the staff to first make the area around the pothole evn and cut it in a square shape and then use BT, BT emulsion and shellmac cold mix depending on the requirement.
The GHMC said maintenance should be completed early to facilitate smooth flow of traffic during Ganesh immersion, Mr Kishore told officials. A senior GHMC official said the corporation had decided to take stern action if executive and assistant executive engineers provided false information with regard to potholes.
He said the ground level staff had been providing the same data daily without filling pothole. He said Mr Kishore had found the practice while inspecting the central zone.
