Hyderabad: An RTC conductor was booked for allegedly harassing a woman on a bus on Wednesday night. The woman, a folk artiste, claimed that an argument broke out between her and the conductor regarding the balance he had to give her and he harassed her. Police registered a case and are checking CCTV cameras on the premises.

The woman, 34, and her team, gave a performance in Shamshabad and was returning home. Till Aramghar Cross Roads she came with her team members in their vehicle and from there along with a colleague took an Uppal-bound RTC bus. She took a ticket till Sagar Ring Road but instead of getting down she continued the journey, as her husband said that he will pick her at the next stop.

The conductor saw her travelling after her stop and told her to take another ticket for the journey for which she gave him a Rs 500 note and the conductor gave her a ticket and wrote the balance behind the ticket.

But when the bus reached the destination, the conductor told her to wait in the bus and went out and got change. “Realising that I was alone he closed the doors of the bus and sexually harassed me,” said the victim. registered a case for outraging the modesty of a woman. “The woman claims he closed the bus doors but the bus has no doors. We are checking CCTV," said SI V. Maraiah.
