Hyderabad: Three held for stabbing cashier

The entire incident was recorded by the closed circuit cameras installed at the snooker parlour.

Hyderabad: Three persons who brutally stabbed a cashier at a snooker parlour in Purani Haveli in the Old City on Wednesday night were arrested on Thursday. The accused are Ahmed Hussain, 24, of Purani Haveli, Massi Uddin, 19, of Dabeerpura and Mohd Tausif, 22, of Khasim Galli in Dabeerpura. Amer Hussain was earlier detained under the Preventive Detention Act.

Police said the accused suspected that the victim, Mohd Sabeer Khan, 24, had informed the police about Amer Hussain’s involvement in a case of dacoity. On Wednesday night, Massi got into an argument with Sabeer when he refused to pay after playing snooker at the parlour. “Massi informed Amer Hussain and Tausif about the argument, and they arrived at the spot armed with a baseball bat, sticks and a knife. The three attacked Sabeer,” said DCP V. Satyanarayana.

The entire incident was recorded by the closed circuit cameras installed at the snooker parlour. “A case has also been registered against the management of the snooker parlour for keeping the establishment open beyond the permitted hours,” said the official.

The sub-inspector concerned was issued a charge memo. According to the police, the victim is now in a stable condition.
