GHMC to get Skoch merit order award

The Skoch awards are meant to recognise the achievements of governing agencies.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will be conferred with the Skoch Merit Order Award at the 49th Skoch Summit which will be held in New Delhi on September 8 and 9.

The Corporation has been nominated for “increasing the trade license fee collections of the GHMC through record linkages and advanced data mining using the integrated people information hub (IPIH) citizen 360 degree platform.”

The Skoch awards are meant to recognise the achievements of governing agencies.

The GHMC’s trade license fee collection for the financial year 2015-16 was Rs 28.6 crore. In the year 2016-17, it collected a record amount of Rs 42 crore. In 2015-16, the number of tax payers was 42,836. The number increased by 79 per cent, to 76,860, in 2016-17.

Apart from the Skoch award, the Urban Biodiversity Wing of the GHMC has won 33 prizes under various categories at the Telangana Udhayana Mahosthavam organised by the department of horticulture.
