Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stressed on technology implementation in all schools across the state.
Speaking on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebrations, he said that all schools in the state should get electronic classrooms.
Highlighting the success of technological initiatives in the recent Krishna Pushkaralu, the tech-savvy Chief Minister said that the future belongs to automation and Internet of things.
“Today, we are living in a completely different world altogether. Teachers should take advantage of the technology to improve the standards of education,” said Mr Naidu.
The Chief Minister also said that knowledge will become a theory if it remains on papers, instead teachers should make the students work in the practical environment. He advised to have innovation centres right from the schools to universities across the state. He said that all schools in the state will get Wi-Fi connections by the end of this year.
The Chief Minister said despite giving top priority to education, in some areas, schools are languishing due to lack of infrastructure. He said in many schools students are still sitting on the floor and said every school will be provided with benches soon.
Mr Naidu urged teachers to contribute towards Swachh Andhra initiatives. Right from maintaining toilets in the schools, he asked for the participation of teachers and students in water conservation programmes initiated by the state government. He even invited new ideas from both teachers as well as the students to help improve ongoing programmes.
Later, he presented best teacher awards to 150 teachers belonging to various schools, colleges and university professors across the state. The government also increased the cash reward to the best teachers from Rs 3,000 to Rs 20,000 and also presented them with a tab.
The programme was attended by ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Prattipati Pulla Rao and Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao. Officials from the education department also attended the programme.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister expressed unhappiness over the snail’s pace of Pulse Survey works and directed the officials to complete the work before September 30. Addressing the officers through a tele-conference, the Chief Minister directed them to complete the work with accuracy in data.
The Chief Minister also asked authorities to use KYZALA applications and suggested to use Internet of things for Real-time Governance. He asked as to why there was delay in conducting survey where 2.66 crore people only were enrolled out of 5.23 crore population in the state. the Chief Minister also asked officials to speed up the process of enumeration to nine lakh houses.
The Chief Minister particularly asked Guntur district to speed up the Pulse Survey, where they have completed 4.5 lakh houses only till now. Due to Krishna Pushkaralu, the survey process got delayed in districts like Guntur, and now 28,000 enumerators are engaged in the survey process.
The Chief Minister also directed to allot digital door numbers within three months in the entire state.
