Indira Park-VST steel bridge ready to open

HYDERABAD: The steel bridge between Indira Park and VST will be inaugurated on August 15, according to sources. GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose inspected the bridge on Monday and said work on the ₹450-crore bridge was complete.

The bridge has 80 spans and stretches 2.62 kilometres. The bridge is expected the ease traffic congestion at Indira Park, Ashoknagar, and RTC crossroads for those travelling towards Osmania University, Tarnaka, and Amberpet.

“Under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), 48 projects have been undertaken to enhance signal-free transport. Thirty-five of these have been completed,” Rose said. “To expedite the remaining 13, orders have been issued to officials for their swift completion.”

Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal conducted an inspection of the bridge, which was supposed to be inaugurated in the last week of July by Minister K.T. Rama Rao but the event was delayed due to the incessant rains.
