People chose bison, left cow, says Chandrababu Naidu

Mr Naidu said that though his regime developed airports in a huge way in the state, the YSRC regime failed to continue such developments works.

VIJAYAWADA: Expressing wonder as to how Telugu Desam suffered a humiliating defeat in the recently held polls, as the people had given landslide majority to the YSR Congress, former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described the act of people in a sarcastic manner by saying that the people left the cow which gives milk and opted for bison that remains violent and destructive, by comparing TD to a cow and YSR Congress as a bison.

Interacting with the party activists at a meeting held at Guntur on Wednesday, the former CM said that he is still clueless as how his party secured 23 MLA seats and three MP seats in the elections and wondered how the people who have been enjoying Godavari water, for drinking and irrigation purposes, brought to Krishna district through Pattiseema Project and those who were enjoying the infrastructure he developed, ignored his party to support in the elections.

He slammed Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to demand funds for taking up several major projects such as Amaravati, Polavaram and others, instead of complaining about previous Telugu Desam regime during his meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Naidu also blamed Mr Reddy for failing to impress the PM and other ministers to get funds to the state and also to resolve other issues. Referring to allegations of graft in taking up Capital City development works, Mr Naidu opined that though Mr Reddy tried to mislead the Centre on the issue, he said that the YSR Congress regime could prove nothing wrong in its development.

He alleged that the YSR Congress regime deliberately downplayed the construction of Capital City due to vengeance against the previous TD regime, to avoid it getting credit for the mega project. He said that Amaravati lost its sheen in no time as the international funding agencies have been withdrawing from the project one after another.
