Telangana IAS officers simply ignore permanent ID cards

On August 2, the government put out another circular asking the officers to apply for the cards.

Hyderabad: IAS officers have not shown much interest in taking the permanent identity cards given out by the TS government.

The state government has launched the service of issuing post-wise and permanent identity cards for IAS officers of Telangana state cadre. The government had issued a circular to all IAS officers on June 30 asking them to apply for permanent identity cards online.

After a month, only 17 officers have applied for permanent ID cards. There are more than 100 IAS officers in the Telangana state. On August 2, the government put out another circular asking the officers to apply for the cards.

IAS officers who applied for ID cards can obtain hard copies whenever required, and they would be printed on request. The government said those who had not applied for the cards could apply online on the All India Service portal.
