Etala Rajendar: PM's visit to bring fortune to northern TS

Warangal: Former state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Karimnagar MP, received a sound reception from the public when he took the dais to address them during the Prime Minister’s public meeting at the Arts and Science College Ground in Hanamkonda of Warangal on Saturday.

Hearing the applause and chanting, Sanjay became emotional in his speech. He thanked the party leadership for having faith in him and allotting him a key role in making arrangements for the Prime Minister’s historic first visit to Warangal.

Chants of “Jai Bandi, Jai Jai Bandi” filled the air in what was the MP’s first rally appearance since being replaced as the state BJP chief by Union minister G. Kishan Reddy.

Every statement of Sanjay’s drew loud applause and cheers, with the place reverberating in claps when he questioned why Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao did not attend the meeting or approach Modi for developmental works in Telangana.

When Sanjay claimed “CM KCR will get Covid and fever whenever Modi visits Telangana”, the din reached a crescendo.

Bingi Rajaiah, a former MPTC of Rangaiahpally village in Parkal, told Deccan Chronicle that BJP leadership made a big mistake by replacing Sanjay as state chief.

“Sanjay is the real leader and correct person who can lead the party towards victory by facing the cunning CM KCR. There is no such fire-brand leader in the State BJP like Bandi who can counterattack KCR and teach him a fitting lesson,” he said.

N. Shyam Prasad, of Pedda Mupparam village in Atmakur mandal, said that before Sanjay took charge as BJP state chief, neither BJP leaders nor the party workers were committed to strengthening the party from the village level.

“But when the party was gaining momentum under the leadership of Bandi Sanjay, the party leadership suddenly removed him from the post when the Assembly elections were going to be held in just three or four months. It is a huge blow to the party,” he said.

Meanwhile, Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajendar was also lauded by the people, in what was his first public address at a rally in BJP colours.

Rajendar said that the visit of PM Modi to north Telangana will bring good fortune to the districts in the region. “Along with the railway wagon manufacturing units, several thousands of employment opportunities are going to knock on the doors of unemployment personnel living in the state,” he said.

“People are ready to dethrone KCR from his post. In the name of transforming Telangana into a ‘bangaru (golden)’ state, KCR betrayed the people. But BJP, under the leadership of Modi, will strive hard to transform Telangana into a ‘bangaru’ state,” he said.
