BS Yeddyurappa says we’re not sanyasis

BSY said that the BJP has a strength of 105 MLAs in the Assembly & made it clear that his party would not allow interim polls to be held in the state.

TUMAKURU/HASSAN: Stating that his party is observing the developments in state politics closely before making a decision on what needs to be done, BJP state president and former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday said his party is ready to form the government provided the JD(S)-Congress coalition government collapses on its own following the resignations of legislators of both parties.

Mr Yeddyurappa said that the BJP has a strength of 105 MLAs in the Assembly and made it clear that his party would not allow interim polls to be held in the state. “Without going for interim polls, good governance needs to be delivered to people of the state for the next four years,” he said.

“Let’s wait and watch. Are we sanyasis (hermits)? After the resignation process is over and the speaker takes his decision, leaders of our party will discuss and decide,” Mr Yeddyurappa said in response to a question whether the BJP was preparing to form the government.
