Guwahati: The Assam police managed to avert a “human sacrifice” by a science teacher of a school at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district of Assam. Three men who were performing he rituals prior to the sacrifice were shot at by the police firing.
Jadav Saharia, a high school science teacher, and his family had been conducting rituals in the nude at their home for a few days with the help of a tantrik.
An eyewitness of the incident said “Four men, including the tantrik, and three women had been performing a puja at Saharia’s residence for past few days.”
On Saturday, the family set their house on fire. When a local youth saw smoke, he rushed there and saw them preparing to sacrifice a three-year old girl, a relative.
