Pulichintala Hydel station all set for commissioning
Hyderabad: The Pulichintala hydel power station is all set for commissioning.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will dedicate the 120MW project to people.
TS Genco has made arrangements to start generation of power at the plant in the ongoing rainy season when the dam achieves the required water level.
TS Genco Chairman and Managing Director D. Prabhakar Rao on Friday visited the Pulichintala project along with the senior officials. He has examined the works which reached a finishing stage. He performed puja for fitting a piece of equipment called the runner for the third unit. A 30-MW unit is ready and work on another 30-MW unit will be completed soon.
The third unit will be ready by the end of August, and the fourth by the end of October. This would fulfil the Chief Minister’s dream of completing the project this year.
Mr Prabhakar Rao told officials that the water level at the Pulichintala stood at 32 metres. Power generation should begin when the water level reaches 42.6 metres.
Mr Prabhakar Rao has drawn up an action plan for the completion of the project by October 30.
He wanted officials to start a countdown from Friday and complete the works in quick time.
The government of undivided AP had decided to construct the hydel power plant in 2006. Work had not started when the state was bifurcated in 2014.
