Bengaluru: In an interview to a regional new channel just a few hours before he took the extreme step, Mangaluru DySP Mr. Ganapati named Bengaluru development minister K.J. George, ADGP Ashit Mohan Prasad and Pronab Mohanty. He said that he has lost hope in the system as it did no good to honest officers. He alleged that he was promoted to the rank of DySP very late as he was facing departmental charges, while his batchmates were close to getting promoted to the rank of SP. He also expressed displeasure over frequent transfers and senior officers treating him badly everywhere, as he did not belong to their caste.

He named K. J. George, a former home minister, and said he was biased towards him and had adopted a casteist approach. While working in Mangaluru in 2008, there were attacks on churches and ADGP Prasad was IGP (Western Range) then.

The officer allegedly harassed Ganapati during his stint for not averting attacks on churches. However, it is not known why Ganapati made allegations against Pronab Mohanty.
