56,000 candidates all set to take Telangana Eamcet
Hyderabad: Nearly 56,000 candidates are expected to take the Telangana Eamcet-2 (medical) to be held on Saturday for admission into medical and dental colleges in the state.
Unlike the regular medical entrance test, which is held in the afternoon, this test is scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm in 95 centres spread over the two Telugu states.
Candidates will be allowed inside the test centres one hour in advance. No candidate will be permitted to enter even one minute after the test starts.
Candidates can carry only the hall ticket, copy of the online application form and black/blue ball point pens. Electronic devices, calculators, watches, loose sheets of paper are barred.
Biometric data of the candidates will be collected for verification at the time of counselling. They would be handed over the photo copy of OMR sheet after finishing the exam
The test will be held in government and national institutions including degree and junior colleges along with Osmania and JNTU campuses. However, unlike the previous Eamcet that was held online and offline (in May), this test will be in the offline mode.
Nearly 17,000 candidates from Andhra Pradesh have applied for the TS medical entrance test and they will take the test at various centers in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Kurnool.
The first Eamcet that was held on May 15 for non-engineering courses will cover admissions for undergraduate study in agriculture, pharmacy and other courses.
This test was postponed due to the Supreme Court ruling that made Neet mandatory for admission to medical and dental courses. It is being held after the government secured a one-year exemption.
