Modi in Guruvayur today

Thrissur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will offer prayers at the Lord Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur at 10 a.m. on Saturday and later address a public meeting in the temple town, the first after taking oath as PM for the second term.

Guruvayur is hoping for some crucial announcements by Mr Modi about converting the ill-planned temple town to a mega heritage centre like Varanasi, which he represents since 2014. The BJP workers are also expecting an announcement on the Sabarimala issue.

The helicopter carrying Mr Modi will land at the helipad at Sree Krishna College in Guruvayur at 9.45 a.m. and he will reach the temple at 10 a.m.

He will be accompanied by Union Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State V. Muraleedharan.

After offering prayers, Mr Modi will conduct the ‘Thulabharam’ ritual with lotuses in front of the deity.

He will also make a host of other offerings till 11.15 a.m. He will reach the ground of Sree Krishna Higher Secondary School near the temple at 11.25 a.m. for the public meeting organised by the BJP. The helicopter carrying the PM will take off from the helipad at Sree Krishna College by 12.10 noon and reach Kochi airport at 12.40 p.m. as per the official schedule of his visit
