The petitioner company had earlier bagged the contract by paying Rs 18 crore. After the expiry of contract, the HMDA issued fresh bids.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday permitted the HMDA and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd to finalise the tenders invited to collect user charges at the toll gates on Outer Ring Road.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice J. Uma Devi was dealing with appeals by the HMDA and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd challenging the single judge order which had directed them not to finalise the tenders.

Mr Y.V. Rama Rao, appearing on behalf of the additional advocate general, submitted that Indradeep Constructions Ltd had challenged the bids invited for collection of toll charges on the ORR by fixing Rs 21.25 crore as a minimum bid price.

He said the bid price was fixed to restrict the number of participants. The petitioner company had earlier bagged the contract by paying Rs 18 crore. After the expiry of contract, the HMDA issued fresh bids.

Stating that the petitioner had not participated in the fresh bids, he told the court that the due to the stay orders, both institutions were losing revenue.
