Chennai: In the second phase of online engineering counselling, the certificate verification for over 1.59 lakh applicants is to begin on Friday.
The online engineering counselling is likely to begin on July 6. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) committee has intimated all candidates about the venue for certificate verification, date and time to their registered mobile number and email ID. The certificate verification will be held at 42 TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs) across the state until June 14“The candidates should report at the designated TFC one hour before the scheduled time with photo affixed downloaded application, all originals and photocopies of certificates mentioned in the application,” said V. Rhymend Uthariaraj, secretary, TNEA said. Those candidates who are not able to attend the certificate verification during the scheduled time can also authorise their relatives to attend the same or they can also attend the certificate verification at their nearest TFC on June 14 at 1.30 pm.
If the candidates failed to produce their original certificates at the time of certificate verification, their application would be marked as incomplete and all incomplete applications would be rejected.
TNEA also provides a booklet containing the information about all affiliated engineering colleges to help the candidates to prepare a choice list.
“TFCs will also screen videos demonstrating how to prepare a choice list. A guide for preparing the choice list in preferential order will also be made available at the TNEA portal,” he said.
Candidates also advised to download the worksheet available at the portal for preparation of choice list.
TNEA will release rank list after the certificate verification. After publication of the rank list, a week would be reserved for addressing the candidates' grievances. Engineering counselling will be conducted in five rounds. The candidates will be divided into five groups based on their rank and each group of applicants will be allowed into the counselling system round wise. The certificate verification for eminent sportspersons will be held only at Anna University in Chennai from June 8 to 17.
