Visakhapatnam: Family members of deceased take out rally
Visakhapatnam: Family members and relatives of Nilam Bansal, 35, who was found dead at her home in Gajuwaka on June 2, taken out a candle light rally demanding justice. They termed the death of Nilam as a murder but not a suicide as told by her in laws and husband Pradeep Bansal.
Nilam’s brother Pradeep Agarwal said that just a day before her death they received a call from her. “We got a call from unknown number and she told us that her phone was taken away by her husband and he won’t allow her to talk to anyone. This had happened on June 1, one day before her death.
On June 2, at around 11 am she called to say that these people would kill her if she says anything to us and before we could react on anything we got a call at around 2 pm reporting her death as a suicide by hanging herself from a fan,” said Pradeep Agarwal.
He added that the death was reported as a suicide to them. He said her body had several bruises on head, legs and hands which they doubt that she was murdered by her family members. He said her sister’s husband and in laws used to harass her physically since the marriage in 2014.
Gajuwaka police registered a case under section 306 of IPC and 498(a). Pradeep Bansal and her sister-in-law Bandana Bansal were arrested on the same day. The third accused and elder brother of prime accused Shiv Bansal is at large.
Pradeep said going by the history of assault and injury marks on the body, it is a clear cut murder.
