Coimbatore: The BJP has emerged as an alternative to the AIADMK and the DMK in Tamil Nadu and the lotus will bloom in the state in the future, Union minister of state for environment, Prakash Javadekar said here.
The minister was in Coimbatore to take part in a party meeting to mark
the two years of Narendra Modi rule. “The lotus will bloom in Tamil Nadu and will come to power,” he asserted. The offer of freebies have not decided the outcome of the Assembly elections, he said.
For, every people need jobs and the Modi government is concentrating on creating more jobs, he added. “In the receent Assembly elections to the five state, we have come to power in Assam. We got 11 lakh votes in West Bengal and 15 per cent of votes in Kerala. In Tamil Nadu too, we have emerged as an alternative against DMK and AIADMK by getting significant number of votes.
The vote share has tripled compared tothe last assembly election and it is sign of thegrowth of the party.” Though the BJP did not win a single seat in Tamil Nadu, it would continue its work for the development fo Tamil Nadu.
“During the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government only 7 kms of
highways were laid, but now 20 kms are being laid every day. Besides, the Modi government is focussing on creating more job opportunities for the youth in the country.”
The BJP national general secretary, Muralidhar Rao, Vanathi Srinivasan, vice president of Tamil Nadu and various party functionaries took part
in the meeting.
Prakash Javadekar also took part in an interactive session with industrialists in Coimbatore and elicited their views on the Central government’s various programmes for boosting the business environment in the country.
