Opposition: TRS buying candidates to bag 4 Zilla Parishad
Adilabad: The TRS party high the command is reportedly taking all measures to bag all the Zilla Parishad chairman posts by hook or by crook. And MLAs and other partymen are doing the same to curry favour with the TRS high command.
The forcible withdrawal on Monday of the Congress ZPTC candidate from the contest in Jainoor ZPTC is an indication of this.
Opposition parties alleged that TRS was buying their candidate to bag the chairman’s post and have made a hue and cry over the forcible withdrawal of their party’s ZPTC candidates’ from Jainoor.
The TRS party high command is keen on grabbing four ZP chairman posts of the newly created districts of Kumarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal apart from Adilabad , and is making all-out efforts despite a tough fight being put up by the opposition parties.
After the LS elections, the party high command gave the responsibility of ensuring the victory of the party’s ZPTC candidates in the local body elections and winning the ZP chairman post to the local MLAs. They are now struggling to ensure the victory of party ZPTC candidates and winning their respective district ZP chairman posts.
Incidentally, the local MLAs took this seriously following news that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was planning a Cabinet expansion soon.
Endowment minister A. Indrakaran Reddy has taken as a prestige issue that he should win the Nirmal ZP chairman post since he was the lone MLA from that region in the state Cabinet now.
The same is the case with former minister Jogu Ramanna who is struggling for the party candidates’ victory contesting in the local bodies. He is trying to bag the Adilabad ZP chairman post with the hope that he would be inducted into the Cabinet based on his performance in the local body elections.
The party high command has already announced that former MLA Kova Laxmi would be ZP chairperson candidate for Kumarambheem district and former MLA Nallala Odelu’s wife Bhagyalaxmi for Mancherial ZP chairman.
