Bananas, watermelon, mangoes and grapes are the preferred fruits for the iftar. In many homes dahibada, which is similar to dahiwada, is a favourite dish.

After breaking the fast and performing the Maghrib (evening) prayer, the delicious dish of the month, Haleem, is much enjoyed.
