Duryodhan too had arrogance: Priyanka Gandhi

She dared the Prime Minister to fight the Lok Sabha elections on issues like development rather than “divert” the people\'s attention.

New Delhi, Ambala, Midnapur: After Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mahabharata villain Duryodhan on Tuesday, BJP president Amit Shah hit back saying May 23 will decide whether the PM is “Duryodhan or Arjun (the protagonist of Mahabharata).”

Citing the Mahabharata character Duryodhana, Mrs Vadra, in a veiled attack on the Prime Minister, said Duryodhana too had “such arrogance” and when Lord Krishna went to make him understand, he tried to take him captive.

The Congress general secretary in-charge of eastern UP was campaigning in Ambala for party candidate Kumari Selja where she criticised Mr Modi for calling her late father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi “Bhrashtachari no. 1 (the most corrupt).”
