Bengaluru: City girl tops ISC class 12 exam

Bengaluru: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) released the results for the Class 10 ICSE and Class 12 ISC exams on Tuesday. Vibha Swaminathan of Mallya Aditi International school in Yelahanka, Bengaluru topped the ISC exams by scoring 100 per cent marks.

For class 10, out of 1.76 lakh students who appeared for the exam, 98.54 percent cleared it.
The western region topped with 99.76 percent, closely followed by southern region (99.73 percent). Eaastern region came third with 98.06 percent, while for northern region it was 97.87 percent.
Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 98.95 percent and 98.15 percent respectively.
Mumbai's Juhi Rupesh Kajaria and Muktsar's Manhar Bansal topped the class 10 ISCE examination with 99.60 per cent. The second rank was shared by ten students with 99.40 per cent marks and the third rank was shared by 24 students with 99.20 per cent marks.
While girls achieved a pass percentage of 99.05 per cent in class 10 examination as against 98.12 per cent by boys, the pass percentage achieved by girls in class 12 examination is 97.84 per cent as against 95.40 per cent of boys.
For class 12 ISC exams, the top position was shared between Bengaluru’s Vibha Swaminathan and Kolkata's Dewang Kumar Agarwal.
The second rank has been shared by 16 students with 99.75 percent and the third rank has been shared by 36 students with 99.50 per cent marks.
Students of Greenwood High brought laurels to the school for both class 10 and class 12.
In ICSE, Ayush Bhauwala emerged school topper and stood third in the state with an aggregate of 98.80% marks.
In ISC, Prithvi Shenoy emerged topper in the Science stream with an aggregate of 97.75%, while Prathyusha Dondapati from Commerce stream scored 97.75% marks and Kamakshi Gupta topped in Humanities stream with 96.5%.
“I am surprised and did not expect that I will bag third rank in the state. I would like to thank my teachers as without their efforts, this would not have been possible. I would also like to thank my parents for constantly encouraging me to work hard,” said Bhauwala, 3rd rank holder in the state in ICSE exam.
Students from Inventure Academy have excelled in the ICSE (Grade 10) and ISC (Grade 12) board examinations with 32% of the Class 12 students and 28% of the Class 10 students scoring an average of 95% and above. Over 42% of class 12 students and 61% of class 10 students scored an average of 90% and above.
Sahil Kuchlous scored an overall 98% in the ICSE class 10 exams. This included 100 percent in Biology, Chemistry, Computers, History and Civics and Maths.
He has also been a lead actor in Inventure’s annual musical production ‘Every Inch Upstream’ a play to raise awareness about teenage issues. Funds raised through the production were spent to improve the quality of education in government and less privileged schools.
Joel Tony scored an overall 97.6%, which includes 100% Computers and Math. He has participated and won awards at various national level science fairs.
Dhruv Aryan scored an overall average of 95.6% including 99% in History & Civics and Math.
