Tamil Nadu seeks Supreme Court order for release of water

New Delhi: The Centre on Monday failed to file its reply in the Supreme Court on the steps taken for framing a scheme and is likely to present the affidavit in the court on Tuesday during the hearing. Sources told this newspaper that the Centre is to tell the court that the scheme is in the advanced stage of preparation and still some ‘fine tuning’ is required which will be done in one week and the matter could be adjourned by 10 days.
Meanwhile Tamil Nadu in its affidavit pleaded for a direction to Karnataka to release 4 tmcft of water to meet the drinking water requirements of the state.
