Hyderabad: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Tirupati here on Saturday, BRS leaders and activists took to the streets staging protests against the BJP and Prime Minister for neglecting Telangana by withholding all financial assistance.
In a novel protest, the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TSRedco) chairman Y. Satish Reddy fed cattle at his farmhouse holding anti-Modi placards.
"Vande Bharat trains are delicate and move on. If the train hits buffaloes, the train will get damaged," Reddy said in a sarcastic tone.
Elaborating, he said since the launch of the Vande Bharat series of trains, there were 68 instances of the train hitting cows and buffaloes that were crossing tracks at different places. The train’s front portion was damaged as they are very delicate, he said.
BRSV leaders staged protest at Osmania university and burnt Modi's effigy alleging that the Prime Minister had failed to implement the AP Reorganisation Act and denied Telangana its due share of funds.
BRSV general secretary Peddamma Ramesh said that the BJP had failed to honour its promise of providing two crore jobs to unemployed youth every year.
Police detained BRS state youth leader Alisetty Aravind at Jubilee Hills as a preventive measure. He erected banners at different places in the city against Modi's visit to Hyderabad. Based on Intelligence inputs, police detained him.

They printed pictures of ministers Amit Shah, Madhavrao Scindia, Rajnath Singh, Narayan Rane, former chief ministers B.S. Yediyurappa of Karnataka and Raman Singh of Chhattisgarh, and the late Pramod Mahajan, alleging that the BJP encouraged family politics. This was done to counter Modi’s attack on parivarwaad, or dynasty politics.
