All security wings on alert for Modi's visit

Hyderabad: Observation units of the state and central intelligence agencies were deployed in and around Secunderabad railway station and Parade Ground one week before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's April 8 visit to the city.

While the other units, including heads of state and central agencies, separately visited the venue, there was regular checking of the functioning of CCTV cameras installed at the railway station and the routes of up to 15 kilometres.

The state police deployed personnel drawn from the Counter Intelligence (CI), Special Branch (SB), Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) a while special team from Secunderabad railway intelligence bureau and the local intelligence bureau, were assigned to take care of the Prime Minister’s security.

Military Intelligence (MI) officers deployed for bandobast give dates to superior officials, an official said.
