Photojournalists attacked at Congress meet in Virudhunagar
Police intervened to restore order at the venue.
CHENNAI: Some photo journalists were allegedly manhandled and thrashed by Congress volunteers at a venue in Virudhunagar on Sunday, where the party was to hold a rally to explain the Congress manifesto for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
The photographers of some Tamil magazines were clicking pictures of ‘empty chairs’ at the venue, showing the national party in a poor light when the incident took place. Video clips of the ugly bashing of the lens-men by suspected goons at the meeting venue went viral in social media. Police intervened to restore order at the venue.
