CM: MK Stalin not qualified to speak on Cauvery

“At this park, the produce will be sourced directly from the farmers who can store it free of cost,” he added.

Coimbatore: Addressing a rally in Karur in the State, CM Edappadi Palaniswami said that DMK president M.K. Stalin has no locus standi to speak on Cauvery issue as the party failed to take steps to notify the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal in the gazette.

“It was the Amma government that had resolved the Cauvery issue and then CM took the initiative to ensure the verdict was notified in the gazette,” he said while campaigning for his party’s candidate for Karur and Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha M. Thambidurai and ally PMK’s candidate for Dindigul S. Jothimuthu.

He flayed Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram for failing to allot sufficient funds to Tamil Nadu, and said had he allotted funds, several farmer-friendly schemes would have been implemented. He assured steps to set up mega food park at a cost of Rs 70-crore on a 10-acre land at Tharangambadi in Nagapattinam district to store the farm produce. “At this park, the produce will be sourced directly from the farmers who can store it free of cost,” he added.
