Salem: Income Tax (I-T) sleuths conducted a raid at the house of a building contractor, who is said to be a friend of state health minister C Vijayabaskar, in Namakkal district.
Simultaneous raids were conducted in several premises of the State Health minister, besides houses and offices of those associated with him across Tamil Nadu on Friday.
An eight-member team of IT sleuths landed at the house of the building contractor Subramaniam at Teachers Colony on
Namakkal-Mohanur Road around 6 am and conti-nued their search till night. Sources said they have seized important documents, but declined to say anything further.
Subramaniam has taken the contract for building several government hospitals and medical colleges across the state due to his perceived association with the Health minister.
