Give counsel smooth entry into UoH: Hyderabad High Court

There shall not be any hindrance caused to the advocate for the university student.

Hyderabad: Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of Hyderabad High Court on Thursday asked the authorities of University of Hyderabad to ensure that there shall not be any hindrance caused to the advocate for the university student, who is party in High Court cases, goes to the campus to meet his client.

The judge made these observations when counsel appearing for D. Prasanth, a research scholar of the varsity and respondent in writ petitions by UoH Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao and others, complained that the security personnel had prevented him from entering the campus. Senior counsel appearing for the V-C said that there was communication gap due to the situation. He suggested the advocate inform about his visit in advance so that the administration could facilitate his smooth entry into the campus. Mr Appa Rao, Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and others are seeking quashing of the abetment to suicide case in relation to the death of Rohith Vemula registered against them.
