Astrologer pleases all, predicts plentiful rains
Hyderabad: Telangana state will have plentiful rains, peace and prosperity this Telugu New Year, besides it being a good year for women. Prices of essential commodities will fluctuate, there will be climatic changes, both Telugu states will be successful in linking of rivers. Panchangakarta Brahmasri Sri Vidya Sridhar Sharma made these predictions during the Ugadi celebrations, including Panchanga Patanam (predictions for the year) organised at the Raj Bhavan by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Vimala Narasimhan.
TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu attended the programme, but did not meet each other. While Mr Rao arrived at 6.30 pm and left at 7.30 pm, Mr Naidu reached the Raj Bhavan later. “It will be a year of mixed fortunes. But one can expect good rainfall this year. Since ‘Raj’ is in Shukrudu, he has to take care of the problems arising out of climatic changes and people,” Pandit Sharma said.
Mr Rao wished t he people of both TS and AP a happy Ugadi. “I am happy that Sharma garu predicted good rains. I wish people of both the states a happy Ugadi and pray for peace and prosperity,” he said. Mr Naidu described AP as a “new family” trying to set up its own house and extended Ugadi greetings to the people of AP and TS. “Ours is a new state without a capital. It’s like new family trying to set up the house from the scratch. I wish people of both the states a happy Ugadi,” he said.
The AP CM also felicitated artistes who presented a cultural programme. A host of dignitaries from both the states attended.
