TRS to celebrate KCR's return after signing MoUs with the Maharashtra Govt
Hyderabad: Citizens who will be in Begumpet and Secunderabad areas from Tuesday afternoon till the evening can expect a “memorable experience” as described by a TRS leader, as the party prepares to accord a tumultuous welcome to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao when he returns to the city after signing MoUs with the Maharashtra government on construction of five barrages across River Godavari and its tributaries.
Though the grand welcome, with thousands of farmers drawn from north Telangana districts, is bound to jam traffic flow all the way from Begumpet airport till the CM’s camp office, commuters and schoolchildren, some of them facing exams, will certainly not be bored. After all, they will get to see Mr Rao on a ratham and over a 1,000 artistes displaying their skills.
“The CM is a hero. He has achieved what others failed over the years. We have planned a grand welcome for KCR for his great achievement. We have roped in 1,000 artistes to perform during the rally. It will be memorable,” Commercial taxes minister T. Srinivas Yadav promised. Ever since Mr Rao struck a deal with his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis over the barrages, thus ending a long-pending inter-state water dispute, TRS leaders and cadre are going gaga over the achievement, hailing him as “Apara Bhagirathudu’ (Reincarnation of Bhagiratha who brought the Ganges to Earth). Cutouts, posters and banners are being put up tonight all along the rally route.
Mr Yadav said that he has held discussions with the police for the arrangements to be made for the thousands of people. For the convenience of people reaching the airport from the city and other parts of the state, there will be four parking slots — Rasoolpura crossroads, Gymkhana Grounds, Wesley College Grounds and Begumpet Dhobighat.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and other ministers have also planned to mobilise hundreds of farmers and party activists from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts from where River Godavari flows. Meanwhile, commuters can comfort themselves when they begin to feel the increasing intensity of the sun by imagining the pleasure of cooling off after the barrages are built. After all, the TRS leaders and supporters have already started celebrating the benefits from these barrages.
