Vijayawad: A woman claiming to be the wife of a trainee sub-inspector staged a protest in front of the police station at Achempeta in Guntur district on Thursday. The woman, M. Lavanya of Sangam of Nellore district, said that C. Nagarjuna of the same village and she were in love and that they got married in 2017.
She alleged that later he went for SI training but did not take her to his new place of posting for the past one year and demanded that the police department do justice to her. According to Achempeta SI, P. Kiran, Lavanya came to the PS and orally complained to the police about her husband. He said that Lavanya staged a protest outside the PS alleging that Nagarjuna had deserted her after marriage.
Ms Lavanya said that Nagarjuna and she were from the same village.at Sangam village of Nellore district and later the elders accepted their love hence they got married. She alleged that she had brought the issue to the notice of Nagarjuna's parents but in vain. Therefore she had come to the police station seeking justice. Later she went to Sattenapalli to lodge a complaint with higher police officials.
SI Kiran said that Nagarjuna had earlier worked in the Achampeta police station but was now working at the Guntur headquarters for the past two months. This information was also relayed to the higher police officials.
