Thiruvananthapuram: CEE clause violates education department order
Thiruvananthapuram: A clause in the prospectus issued by the commissioner for entrance examinations for admissions to professional colleges on non-creamy layer certificate is allegedly against the order issued by the higher education department earlier.
The clause is that non-creamy layer certificate will be considered only if uploaded along with the online application for entrance examinations.
The order HEDN-G3/47/2017 had stated that the certificate should be submitted only by the candidates who have been selected to the courses after the examinations and completion of admission procedures. However, clause 7.8 (a) said that documents or certificates furnished after the submission of the application for medical and allied courses, engineering, architecture and B. Pharm, will not be entertained under any circumstances. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any detail/certificate after the submission of the online application, the clause said.
As per rules, students from families with an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh are eligible for reservation under socially and economically backward classes. Non-creamy layer certificate has to be submitted for this.
The candidates, who have any claim for communal reservation of SEBC/OEC, should obtain a non-creamy layer certificate from village officer and it must be uploaded on the application portal.
Those belonging to SC/ST community should upload a community certificate obtained from the tahsildar. The OEC candidates who do not come under non-creamy layer category should upload the community certificate obtained from the village officer for availing of the fee concession.
