Global ratings for four 'CoMEDK' institutions
Bengaluru: As many as four institutions affiliated to the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (CoMEDK), the professional colleges foundation in the state, will be felicitated and awarded with the latest QS I·Gauge Ratings, a global college rating system, in the city on Friday.
The institutions include Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (Yelahanka), S.J.C. Institute Of Technology (Chikkaballapur), G.S.S.S. Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (Mysuru) and Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (Mysuru). They were part of the recent group after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CoMEDK and QS I·Gauge in a bid to improve quality for its member institutions. Elaborating on the same, Chitra Srinivas, Operations Manager, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, told Deccan Chronicle that the new association would help institutions analyse their strengths, areas of improvement and opportunities for growth. “This in turn will help them improve their quality and position themselves well in the minds of prospective students and stakeholders,” she said. At present, CoMEDK funds 80% of the audit cost for all its members.
